Product Description
The SECO 5217-05-FLY Thumb-Release Mini Bipod is a compact field-support solution for surveyors, contractors, and positioning crews who need a shorter bipod for GNSS antenna poles and prism poles. It uses the same design concepts as SECO's popular 5217-04 Thumb-Release Bipod in a more compact configuration, making it well suited to lower-height setups, transportation, and work areas where a full-size bipod is unnecessary.
The open clamp allows compatible 1 to 1.25-inch (25.4 to 31.8 mm) diameter poles to attach through the side of the head, while 1.5-inch (38.1 mm) outside-diameter poles can be loaded through the top. This provides flexibility for commonly used survey poles without requiring the pole to be threaded through the head.
The mini bipod collapses to 25 inches (63.5 cm) and extends to 35 inches (88.9 cm). At 3.50 lb (1.60 kg), it offers a practical balance between portability and field support. The Flo Yellow finish provides high visibility around equipment and active work areas.
For survey and construction crews, the 5217-05-FLY is particularly useful when a compact support is preferred for GNSS, prism-pole, layout, site-positioning, and related field work. SECO catalog documentation also identifies the 5217-30 leg clip as included with the mini-bipod configuration.
